About the Artist

Damilola “DAOK” Okhoya’s densely layered paintings draw on his interest in social systems, migration, and collective behaviour, depicting recurring “citizen” figures that move between order and chaos.

Born in Lagos and now based in the UK, Okhoya studied Physics before becoming a full-time artist, a background that informs his sensitivity to pattern, repetition, and structure. His compositions are built through rhythm, line, and colour, often combining figuration with abstraction to reflect lived experience within crowded urban and social environments. Influenced by music, street culture, and everyday observation, Okhoya’s works balance energy with restraint, capturing moments of tension, movement, and connection within the collective.
