Kwesi Awotwi is a London-based artist whose practice brings together classical training and expressive contemporary painting to explore identity, ancestry, and belonging. Trained at London Fine Art Studios, his work has evolved beyond strict atelier methods into a dynamic visual language shaped by African art, modernism, and personal history. Drawing on his Ghanaian heritage and background in animation and film, Awotwi’s paintings emphasise movement, gesture, and bold colour. Through portraiture and figurative work, he reflects on memory, cultural inheritance, and the lived experience of the African diaspora, balancing technical discipline with emotional immediacy.
