Damilola "DAOK" Okhoya, born in 1989, is a self-taught artist from Nigeria known for his diverse range of artistic skills.
He earned a B.Sc. in Physics from Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife. Following his graduation, DAOK briefly apprenticed in sculpting, working with materials such as metals and fiberglass. His artistic expertise encompasses various mediums, including photography, digital art, sculpture, and oil and acrylic painting.
DAOK draws inspiration from the human experience, pop culture, interpersonal relationships, and individual events. His artistic approach is driven by experimentation, influenced by his background in physics. He is open to exploring new possibilities and welcomes serendipitous discoveries. DAOK eagerly accepts fresh challenges and actively engages in creative expression through various means. He believes that artistic expression knows no bounds when it comes to the choice of mediums.
His artwork has been showcased both nationally and internationally, with exhibitions in countries such as the UK, USA, France, and Jamaica. An exceptional moment in his career was the recognition of his work on BBC News leading up to a group exhibition in London with Signature Gallery. His art is collected by individuals and organizations worldwide, with collectors hailing from the USA, Hong Kong, Dubai, and various other locations.
